this is an ongoing problem I have had for a long time (tex-common 6.04 ) even
tried upgrade from 12.04 which is on same hard drive with afault of Broken Pipe
this means nothing to me FRUSTRATING OR WHAT!!

Just to clarify this.
The reported bug is the same I'm listing now, but updated to the package
tex-common 6.04 with the next message, after an upgrade to Ubuntu 16 from
Ubuntu 14:
"package tex-common 6.04 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed
post-installation script returned error exi
Seems a bit strange reporting something about ubuntu 8. Because I was
upgrading to 14.04. ??
However a lot of thing seems to work
