I noticed that cdrdao was not installed on my system, a standard x86
Ubuntu 9.10 installed from the CD release.
Evidently cdrdao is required by brasero.
Maybe it is not required for all operations, but certainly it is required for
the audio CD copy function,
which you can see by running 'top' or
This looks like a error in the parser from cdrdao.
Cdrdao did not introduce new features since 4 years and
it did not offer bug fixes since 3 years. I am not sure whether
the project is still alive.
The best way to copy audio CDs is to call:
cdda2wav -vall -B cddb=0 -paranoia
cdrecord -v -sao -u
I have the same problem on my SATA burner.
