In Jaunty I used a workaround - I've put the "appletouch" to the
"MODULES=" line in /etc/default/acpi-support to automatically unload it
before suspend and reload after resume. It works so far. Haven't tested
Karmic yet.

Since you are the original bug reporter, can you confirm this issue
remains with the latest Jaunty 9.04 release -
http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/download . If the issue remains, could
you run the following command from a Terminal
(Applications->Accessories->Terminal):
apport-collect -p
This is not a bug in the linux-meta package, moving to the linux
package.

I have a Macbook 2,1 with Jaunty installed and touchpad works ok after
suspend but fails after resuming from hibernation. I didn't try
reloading the appletouch module yet.
