I'm afraid we can't do anything about this without more information.
Still, 'sudo dpkg --configure -a', as mentioned, will probably have
cleaned this up.

Can you please give is the exact command you tried?
For the record, it should be "sudo dpkg --configure -a" (without the
quotes).
