I am using version 2.0.0.19 (20090105). I tried to reproduce this by
saving a message and it seems fine, however Thunderbird is still
crashing regularly. So I'm not sure what is causing this.

Thunderbird is still crashing, although I'm not sure if the bug is
related to Auto save. I have 4 email accounts in Thunderbird (3 IMAP, 1
POP), two of those are shared mailboxes that update with changes that
others make. I have a suspicion that this is contributing to the crashes
but can't say
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been
any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue
for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
