Seems to be broken again in 11.10. In 11.04 screen brightness was also
too low, but it could be fixed by adding lines to /etc/rc.local or
changing lines in /etc/default/grub, but that no longer works for me.

In Ubuntu 9.10, these keys are mapped correctly by default by udev.
