Public bug reported: Ubuntu version: Xubuntu Intrepid Ibex (both i386 and amd64 editions)
I have external keyboard attached to laptop. In Hardy enabling NumLock on external keyboard enabled it on laptop's keyboard too (and vice versa). In Intrepid it seems that NumLock can be enabled separately on both keyboards, but its behavior is a little strange. If I start X with NumLock disabled on both keyboards and then I enable it on external keyboard, its numpad keeps do cursor movement, PgUp, PgDown etc. If I enable NumLock on laptop too, numpad on external keyboard starts to write numbers. Then if I disable NumLock on laptop, numpad on external keyboard starts to do cursor movement etc. again. Then if I disable NumLock on external keyboard (so both NumLocks are off!), its numpad starts to write numbers again. This is strange behaviour, but most annoying is fact that I have to enable NumLock on both external and laptop's keyboard after login to X to make external keyboard's numpad to write numbers. Update: I forgot to say that laptop is Dell Inspiron 1525 and external keyboard is connected via USB. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Ubuntu version: Xubuntu Intrepid Ibex (both i386 and amd64 editions) I have external keyboard attached to laptop.
