Installing grub-dbgsym and running grub through gdb produces no trace: (gdb) r Starting program: /usr/sbin/grub Program terminated with signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault. The program no longer exists. (gdb) bt No stack. (gdb) ** Description changed: Binary package hint: grub grub
