Hi,
I just installed two new OCZ Vertex, which have a serial longer than 16
characters. The current jaunty version of dmraid were unable to find
these, but rebuilding the package with the 14_isw-serial-fix.dpatch
applied made it work. Is there a reason this patch hasn't made it into
the package?
Fixed:
* debian/patches/02_scsi_serial_remove_ws.dpatch: remove whitespace from
serial id (LP: #305011)

I'm confused. I applied the same patch to rc15 that Giuseppe applied to
rc14. Looking at your new rc15 patch, it doesn't look like it has the
serial fix patch in it. Instead it looks like it has a patch which
reverts an upstream change that was made between rc14 and rc15. That
change was to sto

Sure, I'm going to commit this patch on dmraid debian svn repository.
Giuseppe.

Tried it, didn't work. Maybe Giuseppe's patch needs to be applied if
possible.

I'm a little confused because when I got the email it looked like your
disk serial numbers were long and space padded on the front, but looking
at the message on launchpad now, they aren't. Maybe lp is eating the
duplicate spaces. Since the package in the other bug report worked for
you, try dmra

Did you generate that sd_isw.tar with a different version, because with
those errors, rc15 shouldn't be able to. Also can you post the output
of sudo hdparm -i /dev/sd[abcd].
