I'm marking this bug as invalid because soundkonverter 1.0.0 is already
released and doesn't include the KDE audio CD protocol ripper backend anymore.
soundkonverter 0.3.x bugs won't be fixed.

This appears to be a case of the defaults not being sensibly set.

Changing the backend does work, but to resolve this bug the defaults
should be changed to ones that
could you please have a look at the settings and post which backend is used for
ripping. at the same time you could try to use another backend.
supported are the kde audiocd io, cdda2wav and cdparanoia (you may need to
install these packages on your system).

cdparanoia and it started working.
