thats completely unrelated at this point. did you even try out the test
case? If it really is only that firefox uses gconf values only and gnome
doesn't do any routing then i will report it to mozilla bugzilla,
although it still is somewhat a problem, somthing that might be fixed by
libproxy.

versions of firefox and all extensions you have installed and versions
and where did you get them from.
