Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: dolphin-kde4

PROBLEM:

Konqueror and Dolphin have a feature called "Expandable Folders". You
can enable it for a particular Konqueror/Dolphin session, but that
setting does not persist for any sessions opened afterwards. This
problem existed in the KDE4 packages for Hardy and still exists in KDE4
in Intrepid.

TO REPRODUCE:

In Konqueror, switch to the Details view mode. Go to the Settings menu,
then Configure Konqueror. In the sidebar in the next window, expand File
Management and click on Views. On the Details tab, there is an option
called Expandable Folders. Enable it and click OK. The feature will be
enabled for that Konqueror window and any others in the same session
(e.g. other windows opened via Ctrl+N).

Launch a totally separate Konqueror session. Expandable Folders are not
enabled.

Dolphin behaves like this as well (I believe they both use the same
Kpart for file browsing).

EXPECTED BEHAVIOUR:

If I enable Expandable Folders, it should persist for all sessions of
Konqueror and Dolphin.

** Affects: kdebase-kde4 (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
