I just ran into this problem today using Open Office 2.4.1 and Ubuntu Intrepid. It turns out that I set the Optimize for speed option on the Acroread print settings I get garbage/garbled characters. But if I turn this option off my PDF prints just fine. Hope that helps. -- When trying to produce

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, it seems that you are not using a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories. OpenOffice 2.4 is the latest supported version, and Acrobat Reader is not supported by Ubuntu at all.
