For high cpu issues, often it is not an Xorg or driver problem but
rather a client app doing something bad. You might refer to

But the general request of switching the default from -nv to -nouveau is
a good
It's only a start, but nouveau is available in the repos now. Test it
out and report any bugs you may find!
