All of the packages seem to have updated to the latest version now, but
KDE still will not start.

Yes, the other components are still building, and there was a small
binary-incompatible change to libplasma in 4.2 RC1 so Plasma from 4.1.85
won't work with 4.1.96. This will auto-resolve itself once everything
else is built/pushed to the mirrors by the build computers.
