I did get some more info. which I didn't see at the beginning, maybe
this is cause of concern.

Here's a backtrace. This time just simply clicking on details gives a
sigpipe and it hangs.
Would also give a retrace soon.

The SIGPIPE in gdb is a feature of gdb, not a bug in Transmission:

The workaround is to use this command in gdb before starting
Transmission:
(gdb) handle SIGPIPE nostop noprint pass

curious, now I'm not getting the hang when running the same in gdb.
I didn't mean/intend to say its an issue/bug with gdb. I just didn't
know any better.
If I get it again, then would try again and let you know.
