Can't be a duplicate of bug 278656 because having the firmware present
does not solve the problem.
I am reconfirming this bug on Lucid Beta 1. The card is properly
detected and the firmware is loaded, but the files
'/dev/dvb/adapter0/frontend0' and '/dev/dvb/adapter0/demux0' are still
not present.

should Ubuntu or the kernel support those by default?
These tuner chips are popular items, and it is my opinion that
something like that working straight out of the box proves Ubuntu is
adoptable by many.
