Binary package hint: volume.app
When clicked, the expanded volume applet goes off the side of the screen
when the icon is located in the corner of the screen (for ease of
access). Also, while hovering over the unclicked applet, mousewheel-up
increases volume and mousewheel-down decreases volume. When the applet
is clicked, this changes to the counter-intuitive "wheel up to decrease
volume, down to increase volume" behavior.
