Public bug reported: When booting with ZTE UMTS modem (USB stick) plugged in, Network monitor sees the device, but does not configure correctly to allow the device to be used.
Workaround:
sudo -i echo "ATZ^M" >/dev/ttyUSB2 echo "AT+CPIN=0000" > /dev/ttyUSB2 echo "AT+CPIN=0000^M" > /dev/ttyUSB2
then re-connect via the normal way with network manager applet. It doesn't work when I try to configure the modem password via the applet. Using Ubuntu 08.10 Otherwise modem works fine (except must be plugged in at boot to be recognised). ** Affects: network-manager-applet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- ZTE MF628 not configured correct for UMTS to work with KPN network (Dutch) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/319213 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
