The reason for the continuing problems are now known. There is still a bug in
libmsn which affects people who did not fill out their birthyear and Country
during registration on msn/ wlm.

I have Jaunty running and can not connect to MSN with Kopete. I have
upgraded from Hardy. Can this be the reason?

I am using KDE 4.2 on Kubuntu 8.10 and the WLM plugin for kopete stopped
working yesterday. It's the same symptom as above. I was signed in the
kmess, and tried again to connect with kopete and it kicked me off of
kmess saying I was signed on with another client. But it stays on a
perpetual
Manually installing
http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/main/libm/libmsn/libmsn0.1_4.0~beta4-0ubuntu1_i386.deb
via dpkg fixed the problem for me. I have no clue why the update was not done
automatically.
Possible suspects:
1) the package has been updated for jaunty but not intrepid?
2)
