Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.27-9-generic

Hi,

I have a Toshiba Satellite Notebook which I sometimes use for
presentations with a beamer when giving talks. Recently I ran into
problems because I was not able to configure the external VGA port, the
external beamer/monitor remained black. I used the gnome tool under
Systems->Preferences->Screen Resolution to detect and configure the
external screen, but whatever I tried, it remained black.

Furtunately I still had a 2.6.24-19 kernel from hardy heron on that
notebook, and with that kernel (and besides that the regular intrepid)
it worked properly. So there is something between the 2.6.24-19 and the
2.6.27-9 kernel that keeps that VGA port from working.

regards
