As I can see it dvd95 is not part of Ubuntu anymore according to
packages.ubuntu.com.
So I guess this bug can be closed as won't fix.

Actually if you tick that box the movie will be shown on the top of the
window. Nothing is suggesting that it would happen. I think this app
just needs a simple redesign and it could be involved in the
hundredpapercuts project.

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue, in the default Ubuntu install, that
affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't be
addressed as part of this project.
- the app is not part of the default install ,
I don't have access to a 9gb dvd but I'll try to find. You can also
check this one if you have a dvd.. this problem is not specific to my
hardware.
