Hi! I have the same problem.
Here (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace) I see The program will continue
running. Perform any actions necessary to reproduce the crash. If the program
hangs but doesn't crash

Well, like you pointed out, the backtrace will be meaningless anyway.
You would be better off contacting the developers of the Skype software
rather than reporting the problem here, as there isn't much anyone can
do with the software anyway.

after removing mediabuntu package and installing the one from skype official
site, i get the same crash.
it must be a bug with some ubuntu package
maybe ia32 ?
