The icon is from the Humanity theme. Scim itself still uses the old
icon. Reopening.

scim-setup shows the Japanese a letter as icon now (at least since
trusty) so I close this ticket as fixed.

I agree there may be room for improvement of the current icon. But I'm
not sure that http://is.gd/hpZy is really an improvement
1) I believe I've seen a very similar icon for a keyboard configuration tool or
some other app ->
