I have similar issue with HP 7400. Intel 945. UXA. In ~50% cases,
instead of the session, I am getting gdm login screen - the session is

Hi, my suspend caused X/GDM to restart too, but stopping the bluetooth
daemon fixed it. However, you must stop it using sudo. If using the

I tried something else and I think I managed to kill two birds with one

The fix seems to be working for me. Although i have experienced being
kicked out to the gdm screen a few times - for some reason this only
happens when the computer is on AC power. Another time i noticed that it
happened after suspending by closing the lid.

I can confirm above behaviour. Hardware switching off of bluetooth led
to a successful resume at short notice but a return to GDM login screen
if left for a while (in my case an hour). This was with UXA enabled.
Bluetooth gave no errors in the pm-suspend.log. .. the bug is far from
resolved.

Thanks for your help George but this trick didn't work. I killed
wireless with hardware switch and put my stinkpad to sleep. I resumed it
after 10 minutes just to be greeted with GDM... Sigh
