[Bug 322685] Re: glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop)

2009-05-04 Thread ilpssun
Although this bug is already closed, I just wanted to add that I have not encountered the issues since upgrading to Ubuntu 9.04 Jaunty despite heavy usage. It seems to have been fixed in Evolution 2.26.1. -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop)

could you try to get a new log and trigger the crash while logging? -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. --

I clicked around in evolution following the workflow that typically causes the crash (if it crashes) and attached the valgrind log to this post. There are some invalid reads contained in it, so I hope it helps you find the error. ** Attachment added: Valgrind log for evolution

the bug summary indicates an issue in the evolution code but that log has no error listed there, the other invalid read are rather valgrind noise or other issue but not what is leading to your crasher -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop)

Ok, but how do I know whether the problem occured and the valgrind log is of any use to you? As I stated, the problem that Evolution unexpectly ends occurs only sporadically (but often enough to be annoying) and I cannot reproduce it. -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption

valgrind sometimes workaround the crashes but you should still get the errors in the log -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/322685 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to

Sorry, I'm unable to generate a valgrind log because evolution does not crash while being monitored by valgrind. It crashed just before and after the valgrind-monitored run and from my experienced it should have crashed during the valgrind run as well. It seems almost as though valgrind is

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please try to obtain a valgrind log following the instructions at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Valgrind and attach the file to the bug report. This will greatly help us in tracking down your problem. ** Changed in:

Yes, I'll try. But the crashes happen infrequently and sporadically and as I said I didn't have any success crashing Evolution while using valgrind. It runs really slow, too, so I can't have it run with valgrind all day. -- glibc detected *** evolution: double free or corruption (fasttop)
