This is a rarity for me too :) Which can only be to the credit of the
people who maintain the system. My hat is tipped. The problem seems to
be fixed (for me anyhow).

I noticed when I was trying to do other things it would complain about
ffmpeg or xine (can't remember which). I ended up removing them and
reinstalling them and haven't had the problem since. hope that helps

Thanks Brian, I was a little premature when I said that the problem was
fixed. Just now I tried to install something and got the same message
(once). After clicking on 'Check' to verify updates it went through just
fine without the error message.
