Do you have the proper language-support-* package installed for your
language? If not installing that might help. For english it is language-
support-en.

I upgrade to new version and I still have the problem. However, starting
OpenOffice from terminal gives that output:
I18N: X Window System doesn't support locale ku_TR.UTF-8
I18N: Operating system doesn't support locale en_US
I have a friend who has the same problem and he solves the problem
