Public bug reported: Binary package hint: xorg
If I connect a projector to my laptop at first nothing happens (but this is perhaps still correct). To try to get my screen image onto the projector I press Fn+F7 (The key marked for switching the screen image). By pressing this combination repeatedly my laptop toggles between two states: One gives the image on the projector and on the laptop screen I see only a white area in 4:3 ratio (so it seems that it switched to the 1024x768 resolution of the projector) and no desktop. The second state is having the desktop on the laptop screen in 1024x768 and nothing on the projector. When unplugging the projector I do not get back to my 1280x800 default resolution. What I expect is that with the projector plugged and pressing Fn+F7 I can toggle between both projector and internal screen, only internal screen, and only projector, all in 1024x768 4:3. And I also expect that I get easily back to 1280x800 16:10 when unplugging the projector (automatically or by pressing Fn+F7). My graphics chpset is Intel Corporation Mobile 945GM/GMS/GME, 943/940GML Express Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 03). ** Affects: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: New ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High -- Sony Vaio laptop does not behave correctly when connecting a projector https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/324867 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
