Well, now when I take another look at this bug I see that it is/was
actually a duplicate of the already triaged bug #314044. Hence I'm
marking it as such.

I can confirm this.
What's happening when you are connecting to webdav share using "Connect
to server" dialog is that the path /folder is sent to the server. This
is no matter if you specify /folder or /folder/.
When your server is getting the /folder (without trailing slash) it
sends a http 301
