That said, I think the real reason for this is that whiptail hardcodes
the string "Cancel", and it hasn't been worth adding an API to let
debconf change that.

Is this a bug? They have essentially equivalent semantics - the only
thing you can do in the debconf protocol in response to GO, other than
answering the question, is to return "back up". "Cancel" or "Back" would
mean the same thing here, namely cancel the attempt to ask the current
question and go
