In previous versions of KDE, widgets that weren't actually downloadable were always listed in the get new widgets window. The list now reflects what is actually downloadable. We do have quite a few Plasma widgets available in the repositories, however. :-) If you have a hankering for plasmoids

I don't think this is what I'm talking about as I did download about 20 of them on my first install of Kubuntu through the method that I listed, just went to download new widgets selected the google source, scanned through about 30 pages of widgets and one click downloaded them. I was using at

So I found out the problem but I'm not clear why it is so. When we install kde via the nightly build (with the neon repo enabled) it installed kde 4.2 with the google gadgets that a lot of people are looking for. I've already posted in the kubuntu forums to let people know that using the regular
