Dear all,
I activate again this tracker because I got a wrong
behavior of a BC-5500A on a Sony VAIO VGN-FW11L with Ubuntu 10.10.
Indeed this player is not able at all to initate any reading of Blu-Ray.
I mean that nothing starts
when introducing a Blu Ray inside the drive, nothing mounts or
[Expired for Ubuntu because there has been no activity for 60 days.]

On one of the other virtual terminals (that you can get to via ctrl-alt-f1, or
f2 etc) the errors are normally visible.
If you have no other mechanism a digital camera shot of a screen full of IO
errors is fine.
If they are scrolling past you may be able to pause them with a ctrl-s

I'm wondering if maybe a copy of a handful of the I/O errors might help
- especially the first one or two in the log if you can find a way of
capturing them?

Can you suggest a way of capturing them? I could certainly put the CD in
the machine and boot from it, but the I/O errors are only visible for a
second or so during startup and shutdown - the bootsplash obscures them
otherwise.
Is there a way I can switch to a console during the bootup process
