Public bug reported: Binary package hint: screen-profiles
I think that the current positioning of the MOTD is suboptimal, because of the following reasons: a) You don't see it directly, but instead you have to switch over to it. b) It has its own tab, which takes up space and requires more key presses to switch from one tab to another if you have to go over it. c) Having it there pushes you to want to look at it and distracts you from your workflow. Therefore, I suggest showing the MOTD above the shell prompt, and having the shell tab enabled by default (so that you can see the MOTD and start working right away, without having to switch over to it from the menu which you usually don't need). ** Affects: screen-profiles (Ubuntu) Importance: Wishlist Status: New ** Changed in: screen-profiles (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Wishlist -- Why is there a tab for MOTD? https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/328066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
