Seeing this with mythbuntu daily build from 9th April 2009, but I don't
have the NVRM probe error.
nvidia driver installed with envyng, xorg sits on 100% CPU.
last gdm log has the following:

In Jaunty (9.04), we have just updated to the latest
nvidia-graphics-drivers-180 package from nVidia, version 180.44.
This package provides fixes for a large number of bugs, and we need your
assistance in testing if it fixes the issue you reported.
To do this,
Compiz is enabled atm, but I also tried without compiz. I'll have a look
at the nvnews forums to see if something usefull comes up.

As of yesterday, I replaced my 7950GT with a 9800GTX. I first tried
booting up without any change to xorg.conf but that didn't work... After
several tries I went back to the 177 drivers and finally got X to work
again.
When I did some investigation, I came across the same error as above. This was
