I have exactly the same problem on my T60 using Ubuntu 10.04. I'm a
newbie at Linux, but have tried everything I could find via Google, but
to no avail. I don't have an eth0 interface, so I can't use Ethtools or
anything like that, so I'm stuck at this point. ANY help would be
appreciated.

It still doesn't work on my IBM T60, still the same problem. I've read
many posts with no result. I'm using new Ubuntu 10.04 LTS. It's strange
for me, because the model of IBM T60 is very popular and I can't believe
it doesn't work with this Intel network hardware.

I also have this problem. Jaunty upgraded from Ibex. Thinkpad T60
(8744-5bu). linux-image-2.6.28-11-generic.
During boot the kernel logs:

With 2.6.28-8, my T60 (model 2007-gen) wired connection doesn't work
too. But it is different from this thread. It doesn't detect the eth0
at all.
