I see this as well, both at home and at work. I'm on amd64, and I think
the following messages from the f-spot log might be of use.

1. Steps are:
- Open f-spot
- Click with the right mouse button on a photo in fspot
- Look at the photo

I'd expect a menu popping up which says "Copy location", "Open With", etc.
