I have the same problem on my system runing Intrepid. This might be
caused by the multiple brasero-*.desktop files in
/usr/share/applications.

I suppose the menu entries are also visible in Gnome main menu? This is
then a gnome-main-menu issue and not alacarte. Anyone can confirm if
this happens in jaunty?
I'm changing the but to be against gnome-main-menu.

Those other menu entries are normal, only brasero has many that should
not show, or at least should show with a distinct name. It really seems
to be a duplicate of bug #277092.
