Public bug reported: Binary package hint: adduser
As a test, I ran `sudo adduser 日本語`, which successfully created a user and group, but no home directory was created. I was able to set a password for this user, and log in via ssh, resulting in an error that the home directory could not be found (although it was properly recorded in /etc/passwd). `sudo deluser 日本語` worked as expected. This may (or may not) be related to $configref->{"name_regex"} = "^[a-z][-a-z0-9]*\$"; in AdduserCommon.pm (although I'm not sure why so much works if it is related). Test was performed with adduser 3.108ubuntu1 on intrepid. ** Affects: adduser (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- creating a user with the username 日本語 did not create a home directory. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/330796 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
