You should check out bug #255651. Jaunty already has this bug fix
applied to it and will appear in updates shortly. The fix for Intrepid
is in testing. If you have Intrepid you could help with that testing.

too late i went back to xp,but going back to ubuntu when 9.04 comes out in
april and then i will ditch xp forever.
