specific driver support. I'm thinking of the GMA-500. To confirm this,
you should try to find exactly what your graphics are. Try running
lspci.

My monitor have 1024x600 LCD,But I install the XP and Ubuntu 8.04 they default
resolution are 800x600.
So I think my LCD may suppot this timing.
I guess the drive and Xorg of 8.10 can not support it .
