Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better.
It is the intended behaviour to wrap at approx 72-80 characters. This has mainly historical reasons, when the standard terminal was 80 characters wide, but is also better readable. The main problem is, that different mail agents interpret the wrapping characters differently - that can be seen best, when text is quotet and the line gets longer than 80 characters. But you can change this behaviour in the preferences: In Composition -- General there is the item: "Wrap plain text messages at [ ] characters". If you insert 0 here, thunderbird won't wrap the line before the window ends. ** Changed in: thunderbird (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- Intrepid: Thunderbird produces automatic line breaks in newly composed plain text emails https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/331619 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
