Same Problem on Karmic/Gnome. If I start inkscape from wmaker instead of
gnome it works fine.

Has anyone had a chance to test this with the latest version of Inkscape
yet? I can't reproduce the bug in karmic, so hopefully it has been
fixed

A pre-release of the upcoming Inkscape 0.47 is now available in Ubuntu
Karmic for testing. Because *so* much stuff has changed compared with
the version you reported your bug against, would you mind re-testing
this new version and see if this bug is now resolved?

Same problem over here. Inkscape stopped working after update from 8.10
- 9.04.
I de-installed and re-installed inkscape - no change.
As you can see in the output of ldd, this is not the only library that
is missing
libMagick++.so.10 = not found
libWand.so.10 = not found
This would have been to good to be true.
No crash yet, but it seems that I can't enter RGB values 245 any
longer :(
So, this work-around is not even that... I hope it points at least to
the source of the problem.
