I noticed this in the LiveCD. However, I've now installed from the
alternate install CD *and updated*, and it seems to have been fixed.
My version of kdebase is 4:4.2.2-0ubuntu4.

Agreed, normal users do know how to use the middle button to open the
link to a new tab more often than the use of gestures!! Should be
deactivated!

But this SHOULD be deactivated by default in Jaunty - the middle mouse button
is much more important IMO.

I can confirm the bug and the solution. I agree that the default needs
to be changed. The behavior changes without letting the user know, and
there is no visible solution (except that bugreport, but i don't expect
every user to come here to find out how to get the old default behavior
back).

If you disable mouse gestures for Konqueror in the Input Actions section of
System Settings this will work again.
That should be disabled by default, though.
