I have a HP TX1000 series, it seems to work at first when im using firefox, but
when i switch to nautilus then back to firefox the virtical scroll stops
working.

RESOLVED
Same for me, after update to kernel 2.6.28-8-28 and xserver-xorg-input-
synaptics 0.99.3-2ubuntu3 the touchpad works fine on the X300. Thanks to
all developers for making a good job!

I experienced the same here, after updating to alpha5 3-4 days ago.
However, after applying updates today (20090307-1015CET) a reboot, this seems
solved.
Unable to pinpoint which update fixed this however.
