Public bug reported:

Hi, I am using Ubuntu 8.10, kernel 2.6.27-12-generic (Ubuntu
2.6.27-12.28-generic).

I have bought USB 10/100 RJ45 Ethernet Network Adapter Dongle
(http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.2797), which is reported to
have Davicom 9601 chipset.

When I plug in the device, nothing happens, and I also cannot see any
additional network devide. I tried to modprobe dm9601, but still
nothing.

Dmesg says:
[325794.048076] usb 3-2: USB disconnect, address 6

Any idea?

P. S. I tried to use the device in Windows 2000 machine in VirtualBox -
it is working.
