[Bug 337579] Re: [IBM ThinkPad T42: 2378RRU] suspend/resume failure

2009-05-11 Thread Jamie Strandboge
This appears to be fixed. The problem was always intermittent, but after suspending several times, waiting overnight and waiting several days before resuming, I am not seeing this anymore. I'll refile if it comes up again. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = Fix Released --

I have successfully come out of suspend after suspending overnight twice. I'd like to wait even longer and do a couple of other things before calling the bug fixed though. I'll keep you posted. -- [IBM ThinkPad T42: 2378RRU] suspend/resume failure https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337579 You

If it is reproducible could you try the suspend from VT1, press ctrl- alt-F1, login, and run pm-suspend there. If you could test and report back here that would be helpful. Also it is also worth trying the proceedure documented here to try and find which device is triggering the problem:

It is not readily reproducible. Eg, I did all the suspend/resume tests in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelTeam/SuspendResumeTesting yesterday and it worked fine. However, today I tried it (again from with gnome) and it happened again. I did try 'sudo pm-suspend' from VT1 and it worked fine. Because

Oops, I take that back. When I came out of suspend and re-entered gnome I was told there was a serious kernel problem. Attached is the dmesg. ** Attachment added: dmesg http://launchpadlibrarian.net/23736055/dmesg -- [IBM ThinkPad T42: 2378RRU] suspend/resume failure
