Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-system-tools
If I open services-admin I can read, for example, that apport is started but this is not true as /etc/default/apport has the entry enabled=0. I think this is misleading for a "normal" user as he doesn't know that, for every service, to check if it has started or not, he has to go to cli and check /etc/default files for enabled entries. I think services-admin should also read enable entry for a certain service (not only rc.d) and, if necessary, it should modify it if the user want to start the service. For me it's a usability bug. Tested with Ubuntu Hardy and gnome-system-tool 2.22.0-0ubuntu9s ** Affects: gnome-system-tools (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- services-admin says that a service is started but its /etc/default/ file has enabled = 0 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/337988 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
