By the way: This seems to be fixed in Edgy. the bug is rather about the default value for that option I was meaning that: I vote for giving the gconf key a simple interface in the gnome-power-preferences dialog. Has been done. Sorry for the confusion. I don't know if a personal preference

Here is an alternative suggestion. Why not bring up the menu with press one, and then shut down if the button is pressed again (after a slight delay)? This should prevent accidental shutdowns, give the options to the user and allow the user to shut down without a mouse/keyboard. -- Pressing
