here's my experience with the bug in the Jaunty Alpha.
This bug occurs when the computer is idle and the screensaver has been
on or when returning from Suspend.
The screensaver is active and running, but when moving the mouse to
deactivate it, the mouse cursor appears frozen (Although I don't
no compiz running; that is, it should run but desktop-effects cannot be
enabled, as the nvidia 180.35 driver is not recognized by compiz. (it is
working)

I'm experiencing this behavior too. For me, it only occurs if compiz is
running.
Attached is a output from running gnome-screensaver --debug --no-
daemon, attempting to unlock the screen, then finally killing the
process.
